From a mobile product to a live web platform and an ongoing product team.
GutUp connects people with recipes, nutrition experts and healthy food spots. It also gives experts and food businesses a place to be discovered. Our engagement grew from an initial mobile application into a broader product relationship.
The starting point
The product began with an early-stage idea and a mobile-first brief. It needed an experience that brought different kinds of nutrition information into an understandable product, supported by design and engineering working together.
A change in direction
After the initial mobile build, the go-to-market direction shifted towards a web application. We continued the work across the product experience, adapting the design and development to that next stage rather than treating the mobile release as the end of the engagement.
Connected product delivery
Our contribution spans UX/UI, product design, mobile and web application development, engineering, QA and project management. Those disciplines sit within the same engagement, connecting decisions about the experience with the work needed to deliver it.
A continuing partnership
The mobile application was delivered and the web application launched. The relationship then moved into retained product-team support, keeping design and development close to the product as new priorities emerge.
Mobile delivery, then web
We built the mobile application in React Native and released it for iOS and Android. The engagement then expanded into a web application as the product’s go-to-market direction evolved.
English and French, built into the experience
Our delivery included Branchlate localisation management, localised URL patterns, hreflang, canonical tags, metadata, XML sitemaps and redirects, with Google Search Console and Google Analytics integrations. Google Maps API supports location search and nearby results.
